Dickie's Music Tip

On the way home yesterday I was listening to KEXP when Cheryl Waters played Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings doing This Land Is Your Land. Yes, that's the Woody Guthrie tune, only Sharon Jones and the band turned it into a funk/soul jam. I couldn't get it out of my head and went bouncing into the gym for my workout. This morning, I sent an email to the John in the Morning Show on KEXP and he played it for me (followed up by LCD Soundsystem - another hot act, albeit in a completely different style of music). Listen to John's show and, towards the end of the 7AM hour, you'll head the tune. Or just go buy the damn thing. She's bringing the funk...and she's bringing it to Chop Suey in Seattle on May18th.
