Because their copyright laws are not as insane as ours are. The horrors! Imagine the collapse of the Empire if the catalogs of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones are opened up!! Chaos, no doubt, would prevail. Extending these laws would surely put a stop to chaos before it got a chance to root.
