Iraq questions

As Iraq slips further towards civil war, will our politicians use this as an excuse to pull the troops out even earlier than their original time line (just before the elections)? If we do, will the effort be seen as a failure if Iraq slips into civil war? What will neighboring countries think of us if Iraq splits into 3 factions or if one faction takes control in a dictatorship? If we don't pull out, will we be asked to assist in enforcing some sort of martial law? If any of these conditions prevail, how is it to the benefit of the U.S. and/or the Iraqi people? Thoughts?
