Ike for Kerry; A Byrd on one hand

First, Dwight Eisenhower's son, diplomat and lifelong Republican, is voting for Kerry.

"The fact is that today’s “Republican” Party is one with which I am totally unfamiliar. To me, the word “Republican” has always been synonymous with the word “responsibility,” which has meant limiting our governmental obligations to those we can afford in human and financial terms."

Next, Robert Byrd, S-W.V., gave a speech last night during which he declared, "
The Constitution of the United States has been undercut, undermined and is under attack. I have viewed with increasing alarm the erosion of the people's liberties. What we've seen is a ruthless grab for power. This administration relies on fear and secrecy."
